I was playing around in Javascript and wound up making a toy called Shadow. It’s written in pure JS with HTML5 canvas, no need for jQuery.

There’s a library called MathJax which renders LaTeX equations in Javascript. It seems pretty neat, and its site has a long list of sponsors including StackExchange and IEEE.
